I've been ridiculously busy the past few weeks, growing plants in my basement (no, not THAT kind — organic tomatoes and basil), putting in my new, second vegetable garden bed (and battling sewer beavers) and supporting women's rights in Afghanistan and opposing torture and asking the government to help parents stay home with their sick kids if they catch swine flu and putting on an SEO webinar with Parent Bloggers Network and taking on three brand new SEO clients and, you know, generally plotting to take over the world.
But I haven't forgotten this little blog. My first little blog that could. I have lots of things I'd like to write here, things that don't fit very well in the other, more heavily-trafficked places on the internet I've lately moved into. Things about parenting, about philosophy, about life.
I hope I'll have more time, soon, to write them.

A Technical Note
I have recently gone and retagged a bunch of posts with the tag "Sensory Disorder." This includes some posts about Isaac that I wrote before I knew he had a sensory disorder. I've done this to make it easier for other parents whose kids are facing sensory issues to read a record of my family's journey, from the beginning.
So, if you've come here because you are interested in reading about one family's experience with Sensory Integration/Sensory Processing Disorder (BTW, would someone settle on a name, already? It would help with the doctors and schools and such, kthxbye), click on the Sensory Disorder tag.

Fun with Google
StatCounter informs me that certain persons are finding my blog by searching for "wanton debauchery photos."
What an erudite way to search for racy photographs! Heavens. That's practically Victorian.
I'm sorta proud that the dirty minds coming to my blog are at least smart dirty minds.
(Was it you, Dwight?)
Last night I was number three on Google for that phrase, but this morning I've already dropped to number four.
Well, that's okay. This post might bump me back up.

Yes, You're at the Right Place
I was playing around with all sorts of new blog template ideas today. Nifty backgrounds, complicated gadgets and thingies and doodads I needed my husband to translate for me. I futzed. I fiddled. I hemmed. I hawed. I frowned.
And then, suddenly, I thought to myself, hey! Liz at Mom-101 and Rebecca at Girls Gone Child are totally famous. And what template do they use?
Why, the plainest, simplest template Blogger has to offer, that's what.
Voila.
Heh, heh.
(Am I famous yet? Hmm? No? How about now? Well. At least it looks better than that thing I was using before . . .)

Check It Out
Just for Peter, I added some links in my sidebar related to Sensory Integration Disorder (which is also sometimes called Sensory Processing Disorder). It's not quite a PSA post, but I'll get to that, I promise :)

Nothing Much
Just wanted to mention if you like my new manga-style profile portrait you can make your own at this site. Their English needs work, and the interface is a bit tricky, but it's still fun.
In other news, I am considering actually designing a new look for my blog instead of just using this cheap-but-cute-cookie-cutter template from the Blogger template collection.
You wanna know a secret? I've designed websites a few times before. And site graphics. From scratch. And sometimes people even paid me for it.
So why, you ask, have I allowed my words to languish here so unadorned for months on end?
Well, there are three main reasons.
1.) See blog subtitle.
2.) I've been busy doing paid work and chasing a small red-haired whirlwind.
3.) I know HTML. I use Dreamweaver. But I don't know CSS, which is what I would need to employ to create a really spiffy layout for this blog.
But I saw Mrs. Fortune's snazzy flipped blog the other day, and I got jealous.
Lucky for me, it does just so happen that I'm sleeping with a professional web developer who might be persuaded to help me out with my CSS deficiency.
So . . .
Give me another week or so to get over this crazy debilitating post-dental-surgery infection, and we'll see what happens . . .
