Rainy Day Blues
Yeah, so, I really, really need to move the minute this lease is up.
Because I am SICK and TIRED of NOT BEING ABLE TO USE MY COMPUTER WHEN IT RAINS.
I WORK from HOME, cheap-ass apartment office people who won't fix my wiring. Sheesh.
It rained all afternoon and into the early evening yesterday. I preemptively turned my computer off the moment the first drop fell. Which was good, because the power flickered, twice, during a totally-lame-for-the-midwest, no-sirens, no-felled-trees ho-hum thunderstorm.
In addition to keeping me from doing any work-related stuff on my computer yesterday afternoon, this completely foiled my blog posting plans.
*pout*
And, even as I type now, I am watching the clouds gathering outside my door, and wondering, do I risk it? Do I finish editing that story?
Do I keep researching local real estate online?
I am thinking maybe I need to go back to writing with pen and paper . . .

There are more excuse not to write than there are individual words in the language.
Write now.
Save often.
Snap, Dwight!
You are so right :) I am the world's worst procrastinator.
However, the reason I keep my computer off when it rains isn't because I'm afraid I'll lose what I'm writing-- it's because the last time I left my computer on in the rain, when the power went out, the power supply almost got totally fried. So my excuse is really that I don't want to fry my computer.
However, as you MAY be able to see from your undisclosed midwestern location, the sun is now shining! So I am now free to write as much as my two-year-old allows.
Do you think that perhaps you could come stand behind me with a menacing ruler, though? Heh.
*shakes fist at sky*
leave Jaelithe ALONE!!
there. maybe the wrath of the gods will be directed at me for a few minutes, which will hopefully give you just enough time to find a new place to live and get the h-e-double-hockey-sticks OUTTA that nightmarish apartment complex.
*crosses fingers, legs, hair strands, etc.*
I'm a terrible procrastinator, too. I feel ya. Try paper? See what happens, maybe?
Oh, and I have to ask Miss Jaelithe, is the name from a creation of the Grand Dame Andre Norton?
Indeed, it is! Melissa wins the prize.
My mother named me after a sci-fi/fantasy character. I was destined to geekhood from birth *sigh*
Yay! Prizes!
Well, Jaelithe is a good character to get named after (in my useless opinion) and at least's it's GOOD sci fi/fantasy because Norton is something. One could go so, so wrong when trying to name progeny after sci fi!
I've had some blues lately too, I'm hoping it will pass...
Pen and paper, dude, pen and paper.
I'd love to go back. I used to ONLY write with pen and paper. Miss it.
That DOES suck! That would drive me crazy. What else is there to do when it rains?
I can scope out places near me. The thought of having you as a neighbor makes me warm and fuzzy. Do you think I could entice you to the dark (east) side? Hmmm. Will think on this.
In the meantime, YES get out of that horrid place.
I like pen and paper! Write when you have inspiration. Not when you have power.
