I Know He Was Not Switched at Birth

MOTHER: Would you like some milk?

CHILD: Yes, I want some chocolate milk, please. With chocolate in it.

MOTHER: Okay, I'll get you some chocolate milk.

CHILD: With CHOCOLATE in it. Chocolate milk. With chocolate.

MOTHER (handing Child a cup of chocolate milk): Here you are. Chocolate milk.

CHILD: With chocolate in it?

MOTHER: YES.

CHILD: Mmm. I like chocolate.

I am completely freaked out because after reading this I think we are the same person. I just had this conversation (?) with Ewan today.

um, did you realize that he wanted chocolate milk with chocolate IN IT? Cause I don't know if that came through too clearly :)
My kids do the same thing - except now the Older Girl (7) will say something like, "Mom, did you hear me just then?" And I have to be like: "When? Just then? When you told me you want JUST peanut butter and NO jelly on your sandwich, like you have been eating almost every day for three years? Yeah, I got that."

But we all know chocolate trumps peanut butter (unless it's chocolate AND peanut butter . . .)

I don't see the problem. It makes total sense to me. chocolate milk with chocolate. Do you not hear your child CRYING OUT for goodness sake? He wants chocolate. He craves chocolate. He NEEDS chocolate! And I'm betting you lied. You didn't put any chocolate in his chocolate milk, did you? Confess. Come clean. (sigh) Women just don't understand men's needs.

Yum. I want some chocolate milk with chocolate in it. And I think that's how I'm going to refer to it/ask for it by name from now on.

Ron, I will have you know that the chocolate milk in this house is made with plain fresh milk and real chocolate syrup. So, in fact, I DID put chocolate in his chocolate milk ;)

In fact, I tasted it a couple of times as I was making it. You know, just to make sure I was putting in enough chocolate.
