Jaelithe and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

I have three half-finished posts sitting in my draft box today. Three posts I tried to start this week, and couldn't finish.

This song is stuck in my head:

Where is the moment when we need it the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue sky's faded to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carrying on

Stand in the line just ahead of the law
You're faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces every time
And I don't need no carrying on

Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carrying on

And I don't even like Daniel Powter.

It's been one of those days all week. You know the kind. Where you wake up with an inexplicable cloud over your head, and you almost sort of expect all sorts of things to go wrong, but you try hard to shake the feeling and be optimistic, but then things go wrong anyway. Just like you felt they would.

Anyway, I will try to finish my posts today. I don't know if they will be funny, or clever. I fear one or more of them might be too personal. But, hey, art imitates life. And my week has been unfunny, unclever, and in some cases painfully personal. So I'm sorry if I wind up getting all angsty and incoherent. It's all I've got today.

I don't like that song much either, but I found myself singing along whilst I was reading, and now it's stuck in my head. Consider the misery spread. However, your bad mood balances my giddiness. The most insane (inane?) things keep coming out of my mouth. People keep laughing, but I can't tell if they're laughing with me or at me. I've decided I don't much care. I know the days you're talking about, the kind where you don't know what happened in the middle of the night, except that maybe those shadow ghost things from the movie Ghost came in the night to rob you of your optimism, growling as they cart it off to hell. Hopefully your weekend goes better than your week. If not, Beer!
